Grounding is a technique that helps keep someone in the present here-and-now. Grounding skills can be helpful in managing feelings or anxiety. They help someone to regain their mental focus from an emotional state. Imagine your breath pushing down through the base of your spine, through your feet, like a tree pushing down its roots.


Breathing exercises can help you relax. Deep breathing is one of the best ways to lower stress in the body. This is because when you breathe deeply, it sends a message to your brain to calm down and relax.


Meditation: is a practice where an individual focuses the mind on a particular object, thought or activity to achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm state. Because meditation is a practice in focusing our attention and being aware this actually improves our focus when we're not meditating, as well.
